About Kosai
Kosai is a town placed in some distance western Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. As of September 2015, the metropolis had an estimated populace of 58,608 and a population density of 677 people in step with km². The overall vicinity became 85.65 square kilometres. During the Edo length, Kosai became tenryo territory administered directly by using the Tokugawa shogunate, and the area of a barrier gate regulating site visitors on the old Tokaido toll road connecting Edo with Kyoto.
A put up station named Shirasuka-juku developed near the barrier, and this turned into the forerunner of present day Kosai. During the cadastral reform of the early Meiji duration in 1889, the place changed into reorganized into 5 villages inside Hamana District, Shizuoka. Four of those villages Washizu, Iride, Shirasuka, Chibata merged to shape the city of Kosai on January 1, 1972. On March 23, 2010, the metropolis of Arai from Hamana District became merged into Kosai. Hamana District turned into dissolved as a result of this merger.
