About Kofu
Kofu is the capital of Yamanashi Prefecture. The city lies in the Kofu Basin encompassed by mountains: Mount Fuji straightforwardly toward the south, Mount Kimpu toward the north and Mount Shirane and Mount Kai-koma toward the west. Kofu is only an hour and a half via train from Tokyo. Kofu City is the biggest district in Yamanashi and its monetary heart. Guests come to test the flavorful neighborhood products of the soil wine, just as take the mending waters in such onsen territories as Yumura Spa, inside the city itself.
Kai-Zenkoji Temple is a Buddhist Jodo group sanctuary around 2 km east of Kofu Station, and claims to have been established by Takeda Shingen in 1558. Kai-Zenkoji is designed according to the celebrated sanctuary of a similar name in Nagano. Kai-zenkoji has a tremendous passage entryway, an immense chime and forcing pagoda. Kai-Zenkoji is around 10 minutes' walk north from Zenkoji Station on the Minobu Line, two prevents from Kofu Station.
Kofu's main shopping and eating region is around the station, with eateries in the Eclan retail chain and a lot of izakaya in the lanes running south of the station. The Orion Street Arcade has conventional shops and dress stores. There is free wine sampling of nearby Yamanashi wines in the Eclan retail establishment in the station building.
