While the date of initial development of the lawn that would be emerge as called Kenrokuen is instead uncertain, one model of the lawn's origins can possibly be marked through the crowning glory of the Tatsumi water channel in 1632 through Maeda Toshitsune, the third daimyo of the powerful Maeda clan and ruler of the Kaga Domain from 1605 to 1639, as this selection could be later incorporated into creating the garden's twisting waterways in 1822.
Conversely, other variations of the garden's inception is said to have originated whilst the fifth daimyu Tsunanori built the Renchiochin house on the slope dealing with the citadel, and gave its lawn the call Renchitei also spelled Renchi-tei, which means lotus pond". Not plenty is understood approximately Renchitei within the years after it turned into named, principally as about 80 years after its introduction.
