About Inujima
Inujima is a Japanese island in the Seto Inland Sea, located near the coast of Okayama Prefecture. It is part of Higashi-ku, Okayama. A ship benefit works amongst Hiden and Inujima. A copper refinery was opened on the island in 1909, yet this shut in 1919. The block assembled refinery remained to a great extent undemolished, and from 2008, it shaped the focal point of a substantial scale workmanship venture intended to invigorate tourism to the island. The Inujima Art Project is a recovery venture covering the whole island by the Naoshima Fukutake Art Museum Foundation, an undertaking of Benesse Corporation. It opened to people in general in April 2008.
The main period of the task was to transform the old seirensho refinery into a model of contemporary engineering and workmanship to reuse the Japanese modern legacy. It was the organized endeavors of the draftsman Hiroshi Sambuichi and Yukinori Yanagi who worked together with the planner in his fine art, and the Faculty of Environmental Science and Technology at Okayama University. Inujima is a little island off Okayama in the Seto Inland Sea that is named after a substantial shake taking after a sitting pooch. Like close-by Naoshima Island, Inujima has turned out to be known as a site for present day workmanship as of late and fills in as a setting of the Setouchi Triennale current craftsmanship celebration.
