About Hyogo
Hyogo Prefecture is a prefecture of Japan placed within the Kansai region on Honshu island. The capital of Hyogo is Kobe. Present-day Hyogo Prefecture consists of the previous provinces of Harima, Tajima, Awaji, and parts of Tanba and Settsu. In 1180, close to the end of the Heian duration, Emperor Antoku, Taira no Kiyomori, and the Imperial court docket moved in brief to Fukuhara, in what's now the town of Kobe. There the capital remained for 5 months. Himeji Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is inside the town of Himeji.
Southern Hyogo Prefecture was significantly devastated by the 6.9 Mw Great Hanshin earthquake of 1995, which destroyed major elements of Kobe and Awaji, in addition to Takarazuka and neighboring Osaka Prefecture, killing almost 6,500 human beings. As in all prefectures national, agriculture, forestry, and fisheries play a massive role within the economic system of Hyogo Prefecture. Hyogo Prefecture also has an IT industry, many heavy industries, metal and scientific, Kobe Port being certainly one of the biggest ports in Japan.
