About Hiyoshi Taisha
Hiyoshi Taisha is a Shinto place of worship situated in Otsu, Shiga, Japan. This hallowed place is one of the 22 Shrines. Hiyoshi Shrine, otherwise called Hiyoshi jinja or Hie jinja. The West Hall of Worship and the East Hall of Worship have been assigned by the Agency for Cultural Affairs as National Treasures in the classification shrines. This altar heads the seventh biggest place of worship organize in Japan, at around 4,000 sanctuaries. Hiyoshi Taisha was first recorded in Kojiki, written in the 8th century.
In the Middle Ages, the Enryaku-ji sanctuary affected the altar to incorporate some Buddhist quintessence. The structures of the place of worship were singed when Oda Nobunaga wrecked Enryaku-ji in 1571. The current structures were built in the last quarter of the 16th century. The place of worship turned into the object of Imperial support amid the early Heian period.
In 965, Emperor Murakami requested that Imperial delivery people were sent to report essential occasions to the gatekeeper kami of Japan. These heihaku were at first introduced to 16 shrines; and in 991, Emperor Ichijo added three additional places of worship to Murakami's rundown.
