About Cape Inubo
Cape Inubo is a cape on the Pacific Ocean, in Choshi, Chiba Prefecture, Japan. The cape is close to the midpoint of the Japanese Archipelago on the island of Honshu. The name of the cape is made out of two Chinese characters, the first that means dog, and the second one which means howling. Various traditions exist as to the starting place of the call, one being that once Minamoto no Yoshitsune's pet canine Wakamaru became left at the back of on the peninsula, he howled for seven days and nights. Another clarification is that the vicinity become domestic to severa Japanese sea lions, whose barking voice resembles that of a canine.
The name may also be of ancient Ainu starting place Cape Inubo is noted in severa literary works. Markers associated with the poems of Shiwa length creator Kyoshi Takahama 1874 – 1959 and Naturalist tanka poet Bokusui Wakayama 1885 – 1928 are on the cape. The cape is 10 minutes by means of foot from the Inuboh Station of the Chashi Electric Railway Line, or 20 minutes by means of bus from the JR East Chashi Station.
