Navy Island is a small 64 acres uninhabited island off the coast of Port Antonio in Portland Parish, Jamaica. Navy Island's most famous proprietor became the movie actor Errol Flynn, who reportedly hosted many events there. Until fairly these days, the Island has been maintained as a hotel community. However, it's miles now a closed island owned by means of the Government of Jamaica. The British Government in the beginning gave the island to Governor Lynch of Jamaica for offerings to the Crown; it have become referred to as "Lynch's Island".
The Royal Navy later took over what was now known as Navy island, the use of the facility for a gun battery on the japanese. At some factor, Captain William Bligh of the Royal Navy did use the island shallows going through the mainland as a 'careening station" once they flip the hulls of ships to lead them to available for scraping off barnacles and other upkeep. In modern-day times, Flynn purchased Navy Island for his personal retreat. He planted a protracted row of royal fingers which can be nevertheless there these days.
