About Temple of Jupiter

This temple was a sanctuary in Roman Pompeii, at the north end of its gathering. At first committed to Jupiter alone, it was worked in the mid-second century BC in the meantime as the sanctuary of Apollo was being remodeled - this was the region at which Roman impact over Pompeii expanded thus Roman Jupiter superseded the Greek Apollo as the town's most noteworthy god.

Jupiter was the leader of the divine beings and the defender of Rome, where his sanctuary was the focal point of Roman Religion and of the faction of state. As the most vital godlikeness in Ancient Rome, numerous sanctuaries were worked to respect Jupiter or the whole Capitoline Triad in towns recently vanquished by the Romans. This remained constant for Pompeii, where the beforehand existing Temple of Jupiter was expanded and Romanized upon success.
