About Tappeiner Walk
The Tappeiner Trail keeps running over the city from east to west. Notwithstanding great daylight, the way offers clearing perspectives of the town underneath, the Merano Valley Basin and down into the Adige Valley. Franz Tappeiner, a specialist and therapeutic scientist from Val Venosta who was an energetic advocate of tourism in Merano, made the promenade and gave it to the city.
The four-kilometer-long way divides from the Gilf Promenade and takes after the bend of Monte Benedetto until the point when it achieves Quarazze.
In addition to typical local vegetation, cork oak, eucalyptus, lotus, pine, ious species of palms including Chinese palms, bamboo, cactus, agave, magnolias and olive trees are planted along the path.
