Scaliger Tombs

Arranged adjacent to the Piazza dei Signori, the Scaliger Tombs are a movement of gothic funerary landmarks dedicated to the persuasive Scaliger family.

This family rule Verona for a long time and the leaders of the house sat as the Lords of Verona.

Encased inside an arrangement or ornate Iron grills, the tombs have a Gothic outline and highlight a focal arched structure with numerous pointed towers and stone sculptured decoration.

Five tombs altogether sit in the walled in area devoted to Cangrande I, Mastino II, Cansignorio, Alberto II and Giovanni.

The last landmark is really built with the mass of the adjoining house of prayer and highlights an ornate coffin and death mask.
