Salo
About Salo
In the Province of Brescia, Salò is a town in the territory of Lombardy northern Italy on the banks of Lake Garda, on which it has the longest promenade.
From 1943 to 1945, the city was the seat of council of the Italian Social Republic, with the ISR frequently being insinuated as the "Salò Republic".
The zone around the lake is a seismic zone. In 1877 a meteorological observatory was set up under the supervision Prof. Pio Bettoni, to whom it was later, committed. In 1889, a geophysical observatory seismic station was included, which turned into a critical logical research focus after the 1901 quake.
