Saline Nature Reserve Priolo

The Nature Reserve "Saline di Priolo" was established and appointed to the LIPU in December 2000. It was set up to ensure the saltpans where Phragmites and Salicornia are developing plants that develop in salt swamps and wetlands, giving asylum to transient and inhabitant fowls. In the Saltpans of Priolo and in the Magnisi Peninsula the greater part of winged creatures' types of Sicily and around 40% of all fowls saw in Italy, are available.

The truth of the matter is noteworthy when contrasted with the constrained size of the zone and to the solitary position in the core of a modern territory. This wetland is indispensable for a large number of transitory feathered creatures flying along the expenses in eastern Sicily. The nearby Magnisi Peninsula, portrayed by the nearness of steppe, is a character development and consummation of the Reserve. The principle fascination of Nature Reserve is its position where an extensive number of winged animal species rest, home, and winter.
