About Peschiera Borromeo
Peschiera Borromeo is a comune inside the Metropolitan City of Milan in the Italian region Lombardy, located about 12 kilometres southeast of Milan. It received the honorary title of town with a presidential decree on August 6, 1988. Peschiera Borromeo borders the following municipalities: Milan, Pioltello, Segrate, Rodano, Pantigliate, San Donato Milanese, Mediglia. The land become owned through the House of Borromeo of San Miniato in the 14th century and likely earlier. Peschiera Borromeo's principal attraction is the Borromeo Castle, constructed in 1437 by way of Vitaliano Borromeo.
The Borromei had been, in the course of the later years of the Ambrosian Republic, seasoned-Francesco Sforza, and housed him within the fort while he besieged Milan in 1450. In 1461 Sforza, now the Duke of Milan, made Filippo Borromeo the Conte di Peschiera. Peschiera changed into made a comune in 1863, and, partially distinguish it from Peschiera del Garda and in part to honor the Borromeo Family, it changed into given the full name Peschiera Borromeo.
