About Parco Villa Gregoriana
Towards the east of Piazza Riola, Ponte Gregoriana traverses the gorge of the Aniene River, and past the scaffold is the principle access to the recreation center of the Villa Gregoriana, appointed by Pope Gregory XVI in 1835. The waters of this stream are occupied through the Traforo Gregoriano, a long twofold passage slice through the west side of Monte Catillo in 1826-35 to keep the frequent devastating floods. The water rising up out of the passage frames brilliant waterfalls with an aggregate drop of 160 meters. Towards the end of tunnels is the 108-meter Grande Cascata, which you can see best from the upper and middle terraces.
Additionally in the park are the Sirens' Grotto and, toward the finish of an exhibition, the Grotto of Neptune, where the fundamental channel of the Aniene some time ago streamed. From the passageway to the exhibition, a way crisscrosses up to the exit close to the two temples.
