About Palazzo Traversa
Even in the absence to date of documents concerning its construction, the examination of the building type and of the walls led to date around the mid-fifteenth century the construction of the original core of Palazzo Traversa, attributed to a branch of the noble and wealthy Malabaila family of Asti moved to Bra; the Operti and the Albrione would have succeeded them.
We locate the primary proof of its reality in the etching that imitates the perspective of the city of Bra of the Theatrum Sabaudiae on a plan by Giovenale Boetto 1666; progressive adjustments are found in the documentation going back to the next hundreds of years, which bit by bit turns out to be more considerable; in the land registers of 1760 and 1811 and in a map of the city of Bra in 1893, the expansion of the building on the north side and the addition of buildings leaning against the main body can be seen.
