About Orto Botanico delle Alpi Apuane Pietro Pellegrini

The Botanical Garden of the Apuan Alps "Pietro Pellegrini" 3 hectares 7.4 sections of land, otherwise called the Botanical Garden of Pian della Fioba , is a nature safeguard and greenhouse situated at 900 meters elevation in Pian della Fioba, Massa , Province of Massa-Carrara , Tuscany , Italy. It is worked by the town in a joint effort with the University of Tuscany.

The garden was set up in 1966 for the investigation of plants indigenous to the Apuane Alps and devoted to botanist Pietro Pellegrini 1867– 1957. It was authoritatively opened to general society in 1981. Furthermore, albeit a large portion of its vegetation is unconstrained, it contains a man-made lake for wetland species, and also exploratory trees, for the most part conifers, and a gathering of chestnut trees Castanea sativa for study and preservation.
