About Locri
Locri is a town and comune within the province of Reggio Calabria, Calabria, southern Italy. The call derives from the ancient Greek area of Locris. Today it is an essential administrative and cultural centre at the Ionian Coast, inside the Italian Province of Reggio Calabria. Epizephyrian Locris became based approximately 680 BC at the Italian shore of the Ionian Sea, near present day Capo Zefirio, with the aid of the Locrians, seemingly via Opuntii from the town of Opus, but including Ozolae and Lacedaemonians.
Its Latin call, Locri, is the plural of the Latin Locrus, which was used both to mean an inhabitant of Locris and the eponymous ancestor of the Locrians. Strabo indicates that it changed into the Ozolae who had been the primary founders. Due to fierce winds at an authentic settlement, the settlers moved to the prevailing website. After a century, a protective wall was constructed. Outside the metropolis there are numerous necropoleis, a number of which are very massive.
