Genoa Aquarium

The Aquarium of Genoa is the biggest aquarium in Italy and the second biggest in Europe. Situated in the old harbor zone of Genoa, Italy, the 33,000-square-foot 3,100 m2 aquarium is a part association of the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria and invites more than 1.2 million guests every year.

The first display idea was to demonstrate the Ligurian Sea, the North Atlantic and Caribbean reefs "from two points of view, one the New World/Old World experience of 1492, the other the biological familiarity with 1992 and the present."

The aquarium incorporates 70 tanks containing a sum of 6,000,000 liters of show space.
