About Ferrandina
Ferrandina is a city and comune within the province of Matera, in the Southern Italian vicinity of Basilicata. In Italy, Ferrandina is well-known for producing the very best stage of excellent olive oil. Sun, stone, drought, silence and solitude: those are the five components that, in line with neighborhood folk traditions, create the perfect habitat for the olive tree. The towns roots go back as far as Magna Grecia, about 1000 BC. The unique name become Troilia even as its acropolis became known as Obelanon Troilia became constructed in reminiscence of the Asia Minor metropolis Troia through the Ancient Greeks. Ferrandina become named in honor of the father of Federico D'Aragona. In 1507 Ferdinando the Catholic, conferred the title of 'Civitas'.
