About Chiesa di San Silvestro
The Episcopal rectory of St. Sylvester is one of the most ancient Christian constructions of the Tiburtine territory, which has come down to us.
The architectural style is undoubtedly Romanesque; generally in this regard, the twelfth century is cited. The crypt is visible from the upper church, through a "fenestella Confessionis" located right in the center of the nave, near the raised presbytery, which is accessed via two flights of stairs on either side of the "Fenestrella".
At the center of the presbytery is the altar and it seems that the church originally also had a marble ciborium.
Worthy of note is the bronze tabernacle on whose right is the place where once stood the Holy Eucharist.
Closed for some years, today the Church is a destination for young married couples who want to crown their dream of Love.
