Chiesa della Visitazione di Salo

The Monastery was founded by the Visitation Monastery of Arona on December 20, 1712.

The excessive humidity of the rooms, the ever-increasing difficulties to keep the enclosure, and finally the town plan of Salò, which required part of the land of the monastery, had led the superior to start the practices for a new construction.

In May 1968, most of the community left the old nest and took refuge with the mother superior in a villa made available by the parish near Salò.

Not being enough to accommodate all the sisters, for the older or sick one had to think of a temporary dispersion in other monasteries. Meanwhile, the new building rose on the beautiful scenic road in Versine.

On July 2, 1971, the inauguration and blessing of the church and the new monastery took place, where the Community had now been reunited as of May 15, 1971.
