Buttigliera d'Asti is an Italian town of 2,596 inhabitants within the province of Asti , in Piedmont . It is a part of the Union of Municipalities - Hilly Community "Alto Astigiano and of the One forestall save for Northern Asti production sports. In 1263 the municipality of Asti had conquered the fort of Mercuriolo from the Dukes of Biandrate and created a settlement within the region referred to as "Butiglaria", near the fort. The village suffered from epidemics, famines and troop transfers because the sixteenth century. After the peace of Aachen the scenario advanced: a well-known production of terracotta pots and agriculture advanced , with the production of cereals and wine . From the start of the 20th century the populace decreased due to emigration to Turin in 1901, 2,959 inhabitants had been reviewed. The territory is part of the manufacturing location of Barbera d'Asti, DOC wine.
