About Atri Cathedral
Atri Cathedral is a Romanesque Roman Catholic cathedral committed to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in the metropolis of Atri, Province of Teramo, place of Abruzzo, Italy. It was previously, from 1251, the episcopal seat of the Diocese of Atri and has been considering 1986 a co-cathedral of the Diocese of Teramo-Atri. It became d a minor basilica in 1964. The gift church, consecrated in 1223, turned into built over an earlier one. Further reconstructions happened in the course of the subsequent centuries.
