About Ancona Cathedral
Ancona Cathedral is a Roman Catholic cathedral in Ancona, significant Italy, dedicated to Saint Cyriacus of Ancona. It is the seat of the Archbishop of Ancona. The building is an example of combined Romanesque Byzantine and Gothic factors and stands at the site of the previous acropolis of the Greek metropolis, the Guasco hill which overlooks Ancona and its gulf. Excavations carried on in 2016 proved that an Italic temple, possibly devoted to Aphrodite, existed on the page as early because the 3rd century BC.
On top of it, in the 6th century CE, a Palaeo Christian church changed into constructed this had a nave and three aisles with the doorway going through south east wherein the current Chapel of the Crucifix.
