About Khan ASH Shawarda

Khan a-Shawarda the Merchants' Inn was most apparently worked by Dahar al-omer in the eighteenth century.

It has a square yard with the rest of the parts of a watering trough for tamed creatures in its inside.

Amid the British Mandate, openings were made in the khan's patio from the north and the south keeping in mind the end goal to encourage movement.

It is accepted to be the site of a Clarissan Nuns cloister going back to the Crusader Period.

History has it that when the Moslems assumed control over the city, the nuns intentionally mangled themselves by removing their noses so as not to surrender to the victors Mondril made reference to this in 1697.
