About Kafr Yasif
Kafr Yasif is an Arab town within the Northern District of Israel. It is positioned 11 kilometers northeast of the town of Acre and adjacent to Abu Sinan. The population of Kafr Yasif is half of Christian with a Muslim, and a small minor Druze network. Many historic remains have been excavated at Kafr Yasif, consisting of mosaic flooring, Corinthian columns, and cisterns cut in rock. According to lifestyle referred to by means of F.M Abel the village become named Kefar Akko until Josephus fortified it and named it after himself.
During the Crusader era in Palestine, it became known as Cafresi, Cafriasif, or Cafriasim. In 1193, Queen Isabella I and her spouse Henry of Champagne granted the casale of Kafr Yasif to earlier Heinrich of the Teutonic Knights. In the thirteenth century it became inhabited through Christians and paid tithes to the Bishop of Acre. In 1257 Kafr Yasif appears in a record regarding a war of words between the Bishop of Acre and the Teutonic Knights about its profits.
