About Ilut
Ilut, also spelt Ailut, is an Arab neighborhood council inside the Northern District of Israel. It was d a local council in 1991. In 2017 its population became 7,942. Ilut is located to the northwest of Nazareth. The metropolis is domestic to the Ilut Stadium, the home ground of Maccabi Ahi Nazareth. Sherds from the Middle Bronze Age II and the Iron Age have been found right here. A burial cave from the Persian era had been excavated and Hellenistic, remains have also been found here.
Historical geographer, Samuel Klein, suggested identifying the village with the 2nd century city known as ‘Aytoh-lo, referred to in rabbinical assets and home to one of the 24 priestly families that settled inside the Galilee after the Bar Kokhba rebellion. A fish breeding pond, made in Roman generation, and in use till the past due Byzantine generation had been excavated in the centre of Ilut, near a perennial spring. It turned into likely used for raising St. Peter’s fish.
