About Ein Mahel
Ein Mahil is an Arab local council within the Northern District of Israel, located approximately five kilometers north-east of Nazareth. It become a neighborhood council in 1964. In 2017 it had a populace of 12,842, the general public of which are Muslims. In 1596, Ein Mahil appeared in Ottoman tax registers as being inside the Nahiya of Tabariyya, a part of Safad Sanjak. It had a population of 28 Muslim households. They paid a set tax charge of 20 percentage on agricultural merchandise, which protected wheat, barley, fruit timber, and goats or beehives; a total of 1,355 akce.
A map by way of Pierre Jacotin, from 1799 showed the location named Ain el Mahel. In 1838 it turned into noted as a Muslim village in the Nazareth district.
