Deir al-Asad
About Deir al-Asad
Deir al-Asad is an Arab city inside the Galilee area of Israel, close to Karmiel. In 2003, the municipality of Deir al-Asad merged with Majd al-Krum and Bi'ina to shape the town of Shaghur. However, it was reinstated in 2008 after Shaghur was dissolved. In 2017 it had a population of 12,106. In the Crusader length, the instant place operated as a fiefdom, referred to as St. George de l. A. Beyne. Based on an account written via the Muslim biographer al-Muhibbi in 1569, Deir al-Asad become first settled via Muslims throughout the reign of the Ottoman Sultan, Suleiman I, who gave the website online to the sufi sage, Muhammad al-Assad al-Safadi.
The village, constructed near the town of Bi'ina, became first named Dayr al-Hadr, and it possessed a large fortified monastery called St. George. The site's earlier Christian inhabitants allegedly relocated in nearby Bi'ina, where they built a brand new monastery, giving to it the equal call as the former. The web page is known as in honor of Muhammad al-Assad al-Safadi.
