About Adullam-France Park
Adullam-France Park, additionally referred to as Parc de France-Adoulam, is a sprawling park of 50,000 dunams within the Central District of Israel, located south of Beit Shemesh. The park, set up in 2008 for public recreation, functions essential hiking and biking trails and four major archaeological sites from the Second Temple duration. It stretches between Nahal Ha-Elah, its northern-most boundary, to Nahal Guvrin, its southern-maximum boundary.
To its west lies the Beit Guvrin-Beit Shemesh dual carriageway, and to its east the “inexperienced line” – now territories underneath joint Israeli-Palestinian Arab control – which marks its restrict. The park's foremost appeal is its pristine, unspoiled splendor; gently rolling limestone hills clad in natural Mediterranean flora of underbrush, trees, mastic timber, carobs and buckthorns, including seasonal plants endemic to the Land of Israel, all inside the purlieu of Jerusalem. The hills are interspersed with low-lying riverine brooks. A section of the park has been planted with pine forests by means of early Jewish immigrants who settled within the Lachish area at the founding of the State.
