About The Wonderful Barn
The Wonderful Barn is a corkscrew-shaped constructing on the edge of Castletown House Estate, formerly of the Conolly family, in Celbridge, County Kildare, Ireland. The barn itself is officially in neighbouring Leixlip. Flanked through two smaller dovecote towers, the barn turned into constructed with the steps ascending across the exterior of the constructing. The barn became constructed in 1743 at the Leixlip aspect of the Castletown Estate.One principle is based totally on the custom in Georgian times of the use of doves as a delicacy while different game or animals have been no longer in season, and advise its use as a dovecote.
