About St. Patrick's Cathedral, Bridgetown
St. Patrick's Cathedral is a Catholic cathedral on the Caribbean island kingdom of Barbados placed in the capital city of Bridgetown. This is one of the two cathedrals that exist in that territory being the opposite Cathedral of St. Michael, however belonging to a Protestant denomination Anglican church. Originally built in 1848 the cathedral turned into definitely destroyed with the aid of fireplace in 1897, it changed into suspected that it become on the arms of Protestant people. A new cathedral, however, became finished in 1899 and consecrated on August 23, 1903. Today it houses the Catholic religious offerings, has a schooling middle and has a set of heraldic plates.
It have become a cathedral in 1970. It is now the seat of the Catholic diocese of Bridgetown. Since 2011 is World Heritage listed as Unesco as part of the historic center of Bridgetown. The first parish church to be built became St. Michael's Parish Church, which become positioned wherein St. Mary's Anglican Church now stands. The authentic St. Michael's Parish Church turned into a small wood church constructed among 1660 and 1665. Destroyed via a typhoon in 1780, the church became rebuilt 9 years later.
