Mooghaun Hill Fort

Moghane is the broadest hillfort in the district, with a few sections of land ground included inside its treble dividers.

It is situated around 1.5 miles east of Newmarket and nearby the parklands on the Dromoland Castle domain.

It charges a fine view from its most noteworthy point around 300 feet of the islands on the estuary of the Fergus which in early circumstances was the section to the inside of the nation.

Moghane ies from a portion of the other comparably found posts as it is thought to have been the home of a chieftain with a group of adherents, it is accepted to have been the site of an ancient walled town and a gathering place around 500 B.C.
