About Mallow Castle
Mallow Castle is a National Monument located off the N72 on Bride properly Lane, Mallow and County Cork, Ireland. The first citadel in Mallow becomes built on the instructions of King John in 1185. In 1282, it came into the ownership of the Earls of Desmond. Following the Geraldine Wars, the estate become confiscated by means of Elizabeth I, who granted it to Sir Thomas Norrey together with the Lordship of Mallow and 6,000 acres of surrounding country.
