About Mallow
Mallow is a metropolis in County Cork, Ireland, approximately 35 kilometers north of Cork. Mallow is in the barony of Fermoy. Evidence of pre-historic settlement is located in Beenalaght, where an alignment of six standing stones lies on a hill to the west of the Mallow Coach ford Road. During the Irish War of Independence, the city becomes the HQ of the North Cork Militia known as North Cork Rifles.
The metropolis's RIC barracks became the best one captured national throughout the war. In retaliation, several essential avenue premises have been subsequently torched by means of the British Army. Mrs. King, wife of Captain W H King, RIC became killed throughout an attack on her husband near Mallow Railway station. In retaliation, British military and Black and Tans killed three railway workers Patrick Devitt, Daniel Mullane and Bennett. The killings brought about industrial motion through the National Rail employees Union in Britain and Ireland.
