About Kilmainham Gaol Museum
Today the building symbolizes the tradition of extremist and hallowed patriotism from the disobedience of 1798 to the Irish Civil War of 1922-23.
Pioneers of the uprisings of 1798, 1803, 1848,1867 and 1916 were bound and sometimes executed here.
Various people from the Irish Republican improvement in the midst of the Anglo-Irish War 1919-21 were in like manner kept in Kilmainham Gaol, ensured by British troops.
Names, for instance, Henry Joy McCracken, Robert Emmet, Anne Devlin, Charles Stewart Parnell and the pioneers of 1916 will reliably be connected with the building.
