About Cobh
Cobh recognized from 1849 until 1920 as Queenstown is a visitor seaport town at the south coast of County Cork, Ireland. Cobh is on the south aspect of Great Island in Cork Harbour and is home to Ireland's only committed cruise terminal. Tourism in the vicinity attracts on the maritime and emigration legacy of the city. It became associated with the RMS Titanic, which became built in Belfast, Northern Ireland. According to legend, one of the first colonists of Ireland changed into Neimheidh, who landed in Cork Harbour over 1,000 years BC.
He and his followers have been said to had been wiped out in a plague, but the Great Island became regarded in Irish as Oilean Ard Neimheadh because of its affiliation with him. Later it has become known as Crich Liathain due to the effective Ui Liathain nation, who dominated inside the region from Late Antiquity into the early 13th century. The island in the end became referred to as Oilean MOR a Barra the Great Island of Barry & Barrymore, after the Barry circle of relatives who inherited it.
