About Bunratty Castle

Robert De Muscegros, a Norman, collected the vital careful post an earthen slope with a strong wooden zenith to complete the process of everything in 1250.

His properties were later yielded to Thomas De Clare who made the essential stone fortress on the site. About this time Bunratty transformed into a broad town of 1,000 inhabitants.

In 1318 Richard De Clare, offspring of Thomas was killed in a battle between the Irish and the Normans.

His lovers were coordinated and the royal residence and town were completely crushed.

The château was restored for the King of England yet was destroyed in 1332 by the Irish Chieftains of Thomond under the O'Briens and MacNamaras.

It lay in ruins for quite a while until the point that it was changed by Sir Thomas Rokeby, however, was without a doubt attacked by the Irish and the house remained in Irish hands from that point on.
