About Abbeyfeale
Abbeyfeale is a historic marketplace city in County Limerick, Ireland close to the boundary with County Kerry. The town is in the south west of Ireland, some 21 km from Newcastle West on the N21 the primary street from Limerick to Tralee. The metropolis is located at the banks of the river Feale inside the foothills of the Mullaghareirk Mountains. The principal characteristic in Abbeyfeale's Square is a statue of Father William Casey. Fr. Casey changed into the parish priest from 1883 to 1907 and helped the tenant farmers fight against their landlords. The nearby Gaelic football team is known as in his honour.
Recently the city celebrated the centenary of Fr. Casey's affect by way of having a Fr. Casey themed Saint Patrick's Day Parade. The May Bank Holiday weekend sees the town host the "Fleadh by way of the Feale" conventional track pageant. The 2009 competition turned into the thirteenth of those annual events.
