About Vakil Mosque

The Vakil Mosque is a mosque in Shiraz, southern Iran, situated to the west of the Vakil Bazaar next to its entrance. This mosque was worked somewhere in the range of 1751 and 1773, amid the Zand time frame; be that as it may, it was reestablished in the nineteenth century amid the Qajar time frame. Vakil implies official, which was the title utilized by Karim Khan, the author of Zand Dynasty. Shiraz was the seat of Karim Khan's administration and he enriched numerous structures, including this mosque. Vakil Mosque covers a region of 8,660 square meters. It has just two iwans rather than the typical four, on the northern and southern sides of an expansive open court.

The iwans and court are enriched with common Shirazi haft rangi tiles, a trademark highlight of the craftsmanship and industry of Shiraz amid the last 50% of the eighteenth century. Its night petition corridor Shabestan, with a territory of around 2,700 square meters, contains 48 solid columns cut in spirals, each with a capital of acanthus takes off. The minbar in this lobby is cut from a strong bit of green marble with a trip of 14 stages and is thought to be one of the gems of the Zand time frame. The abundant flower embellishing tiles to a great extent date from the Qajar time frame.
