Taman Sari

Taman sari is situated near the Kraton, this was also known as the garden for the Sultan of Yogyakarta. It is the smallest subdistrict of West Jakarta .Yet now there is only several buildings remain but it was originally built for multiple purposes. Some of its real functions were a place to rest,to work, to meditate, to hide and to defend the Sultan’s family. In this present era, several buildings have now become homes for local people and only the mosque, resting and bathing space, and underground tunnels are accessible by tourists.In Taman sari,there are several destinations and events & festivals.
