About Sam Poo Kong
The Sam Poo Kong Temple, otherwise called Gedung Batu, is the most seasoned Chinese temple in the Semarang, capital of the area of Central Java. Not at all like most sanctuaries, the building does not have a place with a particular religion, yet rather works as a position of love for individuals of different ethnicities and religious gatherings including Buddhists, Taoists and Muslims. The sanctuary is situated on Jalan Simongan, West Semarang.
Sam Poo Kong is the most established of 5 sanctuaries incorporated into the Sam Poo Kong complex which traverses crosswise over 3.2 hectares. The building covers a territory of 1,020 square meters and is impacted by both the Chinese and the Javanese fourteenth century engineering styles. The sanctuary is painted with a sublime red shading and delegated with a triple-layered pagoda-style rooftop, normal of East Asian culture.
The encompassing territory is thick with incense smoke, giving the vibe of being in China itself. The sanctuary establishments were first worked by Admiral Cheng Ho, somewhere else also called Admiral Zheng He, a muslim wayfarer from Mainland China. After some time, Cheng Ho left Java, yet a considerable lot of his team chose to remain behind and settle in the territory.
