Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary

Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary, one of the most beautiful retreats of Kerala is an animal sanctuary which has an extension of344.44 km2 with four ranges namely Sulthan Bathery, Muthanga, Kurichiat and Tholpetty. The sanctuary is part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve. It is very rich in beauty where greenery is awesome. Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary is the second largest wildlife sanctuary in Kerala.

A iety of large wild animals such as Indian bison, elephant, deer and tiger are found there. Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the safest heavens for different species of vultures like the White-rumped Vultures and the Red-headed Vultures. Muthanga and Tholpetty are the two ecotourism centres in Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary which provides in creating deep conservation awareness in the minds of tourist's.Safaris in Muthanga is excellent for nature lovers and bird watchers.
