About Uppalapadu Nature Conservation
Uppalapadu is a village located at a distance of 4 miles from the city of Guntur. The village has a host of water tanks which provide refuge to many birds. This is a favorite destination for the nature buffs.
The Bird Center is located at the village entrance. Bird population in these tanks is currently estimated at 7000. There are many rare and exotic species of birds here, some of which even migrate from Siberia and other faraway places. Colorful birds such as Spot-Billed Pelicans and Painted Storks can be spotted near the tanks. Uppalapadu is a quiet peaceful place in the lap of nature.
