About Turtuk Old Mosque

Turtuk is a village in the Leh district of Jammu and Kashmir, India. Turtuk is a place famous for two such older mosques located in Turtuk .

In the heart of Turtuk Youl, the Old Mosque's distinctive feature and enhanced with typical architecture where one can find such unique art which is of wooden minaret with a spiral staircase only partly encased by timber slats. The mosque's exterior imodern swastika patterns mingle freely with Iranian designs, but inside the place is architect with those of attractive faceted wooden ceiling patterns. The original mosque here back to at least the 16th century. Another major object to stay back is that of the backdrop where the rusty snow-capped mountains and the greenery lurking provides another eye-catching factor when visiting here.
