One of the 12 revered Jyotirlingas in India, Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga is enshrined on the mouth of River Godai atop of Brahmagiri hills. The Jyotirlinga is a three face idol that represents three Hindu deities Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu & Lord Rudra. An intricately woven jewel crest made of gold adorns the jyotirlinga, making the entire sight breathtaking. Adorned with many precious stones like diamonds, emeralds, gems, the crest is believed to be from the ages of Pandavas.
The legend about the temple states that the Gautam rishi worshiped Lord Shiva vigorously for years on the top of Brahmagiri hill.
