About Tikamgarh
Tikamgarh is a town and a tehsil in Tikamgarh district in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. The city fills in as an area central station. The prior name of Tikamgarh was 'Tehri' i.e., a triangle comprising of three villages, shaping an unpleasant triangle. In Tikamgarh town there is territory still known as 'Purani Tehri' Old Tehri. Until Indian freedom in 1947, Tikamgarh, once in the past called Tehri, was a piece of the kingdom of Orchha, which was established in the sixteenth century by the Bundeli boss Rudra Pratap Singh, who turned into the primary King of Orchha.
In 1783 the capital of the state was moved to Tehri, around 40 miles south of Orchha, which was home to the fortress of Tikamgarh, and the town in the end took the name of the post. The region is well known for the old post of Kundar known as Garh Kundar, which was worked by Khangars and remained the capital of kshatriya Khangar rulers from 1180 to 1347. The zone secured by this locale was a piece of the Princely State of Orchha till its merger with the Indian Union. The Orchha state was established by Rudra Pratap in 1501. After merger, it ended up one of the eight areas of Vindhya Pradesh state in 1948. Following the revamping of states on 1 November 1956 it turned into a region of the recently cut Madhya Pradesh.
