About Temple of Mallinath
On a plateau below the summit of Girnar Peak is located the Mallinath temple, flanked by the famous temple named Neminath. It is an abode for both Hindu and Jain pilgrims. Bhavnath fair is held annually dedicated to Lord Shiva. Thousands of people gather.
The Mallinath temple was built by the brothers Vastupal Tejapala, who also funded temples in Mount Abu and Shatrunjaya. It is believed to be the place where the 22nd Tirthankara Neminath died after 700 years of meditation. The effort to climb upto the temple is worth elapse of the beautiful view from the temple and also its religious aura.
