About Take a Walk from Dashashwamedh Ghat to Assi Ghat

Varanasi being one of the oldest cities in the World, walking along the Ghats is the best way to experience the city. The walk from Dashashwamedh Ghat to Assis Ghat is approximately of 3 kilometers. The walk starts from Dashashwamedh Ghat popular for the goddess Shitala Devi temple who cures illnesses, afterwards comes a deserter section where the washmen can be seen washing their cloths. The next Ghat is the Harishchandra Ghat where most of the people seen performing the rituals rites for the deceased.
Next comes the ashram of Anandamayi Ma and finally the Asi Ghat the southern end of the city where the Asi river meets the Ganges. On the banks of the ghat, they pray to an open-air linga which represent of the God Shiva. The walk consist of various different rituals and prayers and offers an spiritual enlighten experience.
